STORY: The Chicago Sun-Times reports that O'Hare Airport officials say they are well on the way to Year 2000 computer readiness despite two federal panels concerns that the nation's air traffic control system is at ``high risk'' of failure. Avoiding Y2K computer problems at the airport will mean that landing lights, elevators, security and environmental systems will stay running past midnight New Year's Eve. Officials say the airport will be fully compliant by the end of the summer and they are also working on contingency planning. The U.S. General Accounting Office and Senate Year 2000 Committee have criticized the FAA for delays in fixing the bug. ``The FAA, although it has made great strides in the past year ... remains a high risk,'' the committee report said.
