Babs adds second New Year's Eve concert

The tickets range in price from $500 to $2,500 and there just aren't enough of them to go around. What star could be worth the price, and what singer could attract such attention. It all surrounds Barbara Streisand and her New Years' Eve concert in Las Vegas.

Because of such high demand the MGM Grand has convinced the singing sensation to add a second concert to her schedule. Barbara Streisand agreed and a New Year's Day concert was added to the tour.

Barbara Streisand's New Year's Eve concert sold out in just five hours and is considered one the premier New Year's Eve concerts in the world. In fact, the performance was so popular it set a record for Ticketmaster's all-time, one-day sales for a single event.

"This is truly a by-popular-demand decision" MGM's Entertainment President, Richard Strum said,"since the public refused to accept that they could not obtain tickets for what may be the final United States concert engagement by the most popular performing artist of our time."

The second concert will take place the same area as the first, in the MGM Grand Garden Arena. As you can imagine the hotel is thrilled to have Barbara make an encore appearance.

The move is a good one for Streisand as well. The demand for concert tickets pushed up sales of her current album " A Love Like Ours". The album has become her 42^nd Gold Album and her 24^th Platinum Album.

If you want tickets for the concert of the century you will have to wait until November 22, Monday. The tickets will go on sale at noon EST (9amPT).
