STORY: Dan Aykroyd and his father, Peter, want to make their own mark on the millennium and in doing so, inspire their fellow Canadians to do the same. According to an Associated Press Story in the Washington Post, the duo has launched the ``Our Millennium'' project, which invites Canadians to give millennium gifts to their communities. They are all for a good party on New Year's Eve but they want people to remember the dawn of the next 1,000 years by doing something good. Ackroyd is Ontario native and a star of such films as "Ghostbusters" and "The Blues Brothers." His family made the first donation with the gift of a Braille keyboard to a Kingston-area office of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. The keyboard allows sightless people to translate the written word from the Internet. The Aykroyds are promoting such ideas as shopping clubs for seniors, playgrounds and the planting of flowers. The Canada Millennium Partnership Program is a federal initiative that helps fund community projects to celebrate the next 1,000 years.
