STORY: Resorts offering parties for all ages To celebrate the arrival of the New Year's eve, Aruba's resorts are offering special millennium packages. The hotels will welcome visitors by hosting special festivities and fireworks for their millennium guests. Wyndham Aruba Beach Resort and Casino will feature a New Year's Eve dinner and live music at the hotel restaurant and on a larger scale, the resort will be hosting Grammy Award winner Jose Feliciano for a two-hour poolside concert priced at $300 per person. "Millennium Celebration" packages require an eight night minimum stay and include accommodations only. Rates start at $375 per night (not per person). Aruba Sonesta Resort is hosting a New Year's Eve party at its Seaport Conference Center that includes dinner and dancing priced at $300 per person, $99 for children ages 5-12 and free admission for kids under five. The gala will involve a festival of lights which includes an outdoor cocktail reception and a "Children's Wonderland." Also included will be an international black-tie buffet with gourmet foods from around the world. A fireworks display will light up the skies at midnight. Guests will receive an engraved "Millennium 2000" champagne flute and plate. Besides live music at all three restaurants, Allegro Resort Aruba is offering a black-tie five course gala dinner in a ballroom with two bands playing Latin, rock & roll, and lounge music. There will be an indoor firework display and each couple will walk away with a champagne bottle, commemorative plate and a champagne flute. Millennium rates start at $364 per person based on double occupancy. The gala dinner is an additional $200 per person. La Cabana All Suite Beach Resort & Casino will host a millennium party with live music poolside, fireworks, champagne, a special commemorative plate and party favors. Millennium rates start at $282 per night. The Aruba Grand and the Hyatt Regency Aruba will also host millennium parties, however, rates vary and some restrictions apply. Aruba is a vacationer's paradise, located in the heart of the Caribbean, only two and a half-hours from Miami by air and 15 miles north of Venezuela.
