STORY: Christians who believe Jesus Christ will make a millennium appearance are being offered a 24-hour live Internet link to Jerusalem's Golden Gate where they can watch for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ from the comfort of their homes. A group of evangelicals in Hereford, England, has set up a Web site - www.messiahcam.org - to monitor the Golden or Eastern Gate of Jerusalem's old city walls via a fixed camera in the hope of recording the Messiah's return. According to a story appearing in the Sydney Morning Herald, the group is part of Daystar International, a registered charity in America, and one of several Christian organisations that believe Christ will return at the turn of the millennium. The choice of the Golden Gate is based on a prophecy in the Old Testament Book of Ezekiel, which declares the eastern gate of the city will remain sealed until the Messiah comes. The gate is significant to Jews, Muslims and Christians. "We believe Jesus could return close to the millennium," Christine Darg, who runs the Hereford Group told the The Telegraph of London "Jews, Muslims and Christians believe He will enter Jerusalem through the gate that our 'Messiahcam' is watching daily. "Many people want to go to the Holy Land at the millennium, but cannot. Our Web site allows them to be virtual watchmen for the Second Coming."
