Gala planned instead of full stage production for New Year's Eve

Not knowing exactly what they would be doing, Opera Australia says it will stage a "very grand" gala at the Sydney Opera House instead of hosting a full fledge stage production.

Adrian Collette, Opera Australia's general manager has told the Sydney Morning Herald plans are still being finalized Opera Australia's summer season would begin with Die Fledermaus, but Collette said there had not been any plans to stage this on New Year's Eve.
