STORY: Plans call for concert at The Millennium Wall in Gisborne New Zealand Emmy-Award winning and Grammy-nominated musician/composer John Tesh will perform his "Heart of the Sunrise" against the backdrop of The Millennium Wall(TM) in Gisborne New Zealand, the city of the first light of the first day of the 21st century. The New Year's Eve performance, to be broadcast live on QVC, will cap Tesh's three-month international "One World" tour. The Millennium Wall is a planned, kilometer-long granite permanent tribute to the next 1,000 years being built along the coastline in Gisborn e, New Zealand. The light that welcomes the first day of the new century will hit the eastern-most city on New Zealand's north island. "Everybody's looking for something cool to do on Millennium Eve," Tesh says in a press statement. "Performing at The Millennium Wall(TM) pretty much does it for me." A 2-CD set by John Tesh, "Heart of the Sunrise: The Millennium Collection," will also be offered exclusively by QVC throughout the remainder of 1999, including the December 31st broadcast from New Zealand. Lyrics of "Heart of the Sunrise," the album's title song, were written and performed by singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan. Morgan, with 14 number-one hits, four Dove Awards, a Billboard Award and 1999 nomination as the GMA Songwriter of the Year Award to her credit, will perform the tune with Tesh at the wall on New Year's Eve. The Millennium Wall is the only one of its kind. Its wave-like design was created by New Zealand architect/sculptor Don Moodie to mirror the never-ending tidal flow of the South Pacific Ocean it is built beside. The wall is designed with space for a million names to be laser-etched into granite tiles. QVC will donate $1.00 for each name space sold by QVC to children's charities. Additional Millennium Wall related-products are currently in development, including The Millennium Wall Book (Kensington Books), a pictorial and historical chronicle containing words and images about 1 A.D. to Year 2000, the City of Gisborne, New Zealand, and The Millennium Wall.
